Whoops
Friends,
If someone can find it, I'd be happy. I have an appointment that I have to get to now -- so it was on Acts 5:22-32. It really is a wonderful passage. Sorry. John Posted by johnwright at August 17, 2005 5:12 PM Comments
I'll use this space to update what we did. There were eight of us who started out the evening by walking over to Larry's. He is looking well. He's walking around now, and he is mobile enough to put on pants. He tells us that he takes walks to and from the garbage dumpster to take out the trash, and his neighbors are surprised at his renewed mobility. Meanwhile, it turns out he's kicked David out because he's been increasingly more beligerently drunk and bringing over friends who were really loud. Larry likes it quiet and wants to respect his neighbors who have kids. He admits to being very mad at David but still affirms him as his friend. We read the passage to him, but talked about it only very briefly because Larry wanted to tell us about how he made it to church last weekend (Tiana and I didn't know because we were up in Washington to be in Nate & Kristina's wedding!). You may already know these things considering Derron is over there pretty much every day, but I wanted to share. Mike Patterson is dying; Larry is getting slightly better but still deteriorating due to the vodka; Tasha Bulgrien has excruciatingly painful kidney stones; Jenn Tracy's mom got bit by a very poisonous spider above her eyebrow; there was a death of a grandparent from somebody in our congregation from Zimbabwe (I don't know how to spell or even pronounce their last name); the Swiss Protestant theologian, Brother Roger, who founded the Taize community of monks was brutally murdered... Lord have mercy upon us in these times. peace, eric Posted by: Eric Lee at August 18, 2005 12:03 PM meh. Posted by: Ashby at August 19, 2005 1:20 AM Post a comment
